I was very nervous about little Titan flying in cargo. I was a little comforted when I met a couple at the airport who was traveling with a dog as well, Buster. So at least little Titan was not alone on the flight. I chatted with the man at the TSA and he was very nice and assured me they would take care of Titan and he would be fine.

The couple I met, Matthew and Heather are in the military and will be in South Korea for 3 years. They were also traveling with their 11 month old daughter, Sierra. Needless to say they had a lot of bags with them. I actually boarded early by pretending I was with them. ;) I am pretty sure that they had more than the allowed carry in luggage but they were able to slide by.

One of my checked bags was definitely over the allowed limit of 50 lbs. The woman at the check-in was extremely nice and didn’t even charge me the extra fee.

The plane was huge, I think it is the biggest plane I have ever flown on. The flight attendants were all very pretty and dressed very nice. They all had dressy scarfs around their necks and cute ribbons in their hair.

Each seat had a TV in front of it and passengers received “complimentary” headphones. (I think on most American airlines you have to pay to use them). I had my Kindle with me so I didn’t watch TV but I did play with the interactive flight status which showed where the plane was and how much further to the destination. (etc.). I held my breath when we were over North Korea lol.

I forgot to turn off my wireless right away on my Kindle so my battery was almost drained right away. I was so mad. But somehow it lasted through the flight on little battery power.

They also served a lot of food and wine. If you ever fly on Korean Airlines you will not have to worry about going hungry. Also unlike airlines in the states the food was complimentary. Koreans use a spoon and chopsticks for everything and they mix many of the side dishes with rice. The flight attendant was nice enough to give me a card that showed the procedure for preparing the Bibimbap.. You had to mix the beef with rice, add sesame oil, then this red pepper paste that came in a tube. I also had some seaweed soup which was … interesting.

Overall I was very impressed with Korean Airlines. They take very good care of their customers. The customer service on domestic American flights really pales in comparison.
