It was an action packed weekend. On Sunday we decided to do some more exploring and check out the Aquarium in Seoul. Instead of taking the subway, which is time consuming and very tedious, we decided to take the M6405 bus.

IMG_0087We heard about this bus a few weeks before and I  saw the M6405 bus drop someone off in front of our apartment complex one day when I was walking Titan but I could not find the M6405 schedule at the bus stop.

So Josh and I got information on the bus at Tomorrow Land, and caught the the bus at the “Technopark” subway terminal. Sure enough the bus stopped right across the street from our apartment by the park and THAT terminal was marked. But hey, it’s Korea. At least we know for next time.

So far this is my preferred method of travel to Seoul. The bus took us to Gangnam Station, just three subway stops from the Coex Mall. It only took us an hour to get there. We were the first ones on the bus and there were only a handful of people who rode with us. It was great.

It only takes about an hour and a half to tour the entire exhibit. There is a large diversity of animals and habitats; fresh water and salt water ecosystems. There was also and exhibit called “Fish as Art” which I found particularly amusing. My favorite was the fish in the toilet bowl.

They did have a tank with manatees but I didn’t take any pictures. It makes me sad to see large marine mammals  in a small tank. ;( I also noticed that one of the sharks did not look very healthy. At the end of the shark exhibit there was also a moving platform that played the music from jaws as it took you through an underwater tunnel. (I got a kick out of the jaws music).

I did not see any “oarfish,” apparently that exhibit is in a place called Building 63. A different adventure for another day. ;)
